Master of Science in Teaching and Learning Program

Educators may elect to take 15 hours from Performance Learning Systems and an additional 17 hours of core courses from the university to complete the 32 hour program. All credit is posted in semester hours. All PLS courses have been reviewed and approved by the University of St. Francis, College of Education. All courses within the masters program are described in full in the University catalog which can be located on the website at www.stfrancis.edu/PLS. The courses are delineated by number assignment and the title of the course will be indicated on the transcript.

The Teaching and Learning master's program allows teachers and administrators to discover ways to improve the academic achievement of students and develop professional school leadership. Courses will address the myriad of issues and needs which school communities face in a climate of evolving standards, curriculum change, school improvement, and strategic planning efforts. All courses emphasize the integration of theory, research-based best practices, and meaningful applications. Educators take 15 hours of electives from Performance Learning Systems and an additional 17 hours of core courses (14 credit hours of core courses and 3 credit hours of a selected elective) from the university to complete the 32-hour program. University of St. Francis will allow up to 6 hours of PLS credits taken from another institution to be transferred into this master's program.The University of St. Francis is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). USF is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

This masters program can be brought to locations throughout the state.
