My Favorite Teaching Moment

My favorite part about teaching (both in the classroom and online) is that I enjoy watching those light bulb moments. I like to be part of a student’s learning and seeing them make connections to their lives through what we are teaching in a course.

I was teaching my third graders about Native Americans and pilgrims. Out of the corner of my eye I saw two of my boys goofing around. I pulled them to the side at the end of the lesson and asked them what they had been doing. After a long pause one boy said, "Michael was pretending he was an Indian, and I was the turkey." I turned to Michael and he said with big eyes, "Well, it is Thanksgiving."

Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses

I have taken PLS courses for years and through each course, I was able to make a great connection to the other students and the teachers as well. I wanted to be part of this program and help students achieve what I achieved through these courses.
