My Favorite Teaching Moment

The thing that I enjoy most about teaching is that it is ever changing. Every day is a new day and presents a new opportunity to expand the knowledge of students.

Just recently, I was working with a group of fourth grade struggling readers. The students were preparing to read a book about landmarks by brainstorming. One of my most challenging students immediately began telling us about the Statue of Liberty. Normally, this child barely speaks but he had made a connection and was excited about learning!
