My Favorite Teaching Moment

Teaching is a rewarding, even exciting, career. There is never a dull day. It is so great to interact with young people and see them engaged in discovering the world around them. Teaching PLS allows me to continue learning from my students’ super ideas and suggestions.

After much thought concerning doing a unit on Tessellations with a class in which most struggled with common Math concepts, I decided to do so. One struggling student grasped Tessellations immediately. I had him helping other groups that were struggling with the concept. He was so proud of himself to be assigned that job. It taught me that students learn through many modalities and to not pre-judge capabilities.

Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses

I love teaching PLS courses because of the freedom it offers both students and instructors. The quality of the courses rivals the traditional classroom and provides learning modalities that help teachers become the best in their field. Most importantly PLS students are AWESOME dedicated teachers.
