My Favorite Teaching Moment
I enjoy facilitating PLS courses because of the teacher-to-teacher collaboration that takes place. With each course that I facilitate, I acquire innovative techniques that I can use in my classroom the very next day!
One of my favorite moments in teaching was during the first PLS course that I facilitated. I was amazed at all of the amazing ideas that the participants brought with them to the course. One participant was having trouble with classroom management, and tried out one of the techniques recommended to him. He reported back that the technique worked like a charm and he was grateful for the help. Ever since that first course, the “A HA!” moments have continued within each of the courses that I have facilitated with PLS.
Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses
PLS courses are unique in that they focus on providing relevant, classroom-ready strategies that can be implemented immediately. PLS courses provide you with the opportunity to collaborate with other teachers from across the United States on topics that affect you, your pedagogy and your students. We (teachers) are our own greatest untapped resource in regard to innovative resolutions to common classroom problems. By sharing what’s in our “bag of tricks,” we can help one another continue to evolve as professionals.
