My Favorite Teaching Moment

One of my favorite moments in teaching is that instant when someone has an "AHA" experience. When an explanation has hit the target for a certain student and that person can finally make sense of the material and can turn it around in their head to see how they can apply it to their classroom. That is when I know I have helped to make a difference in a classroom full of students.

Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses

Online teaching provides a flexibility that I need in my life. The students are eager to share their ideas and respond to thought-provoking questions without fear of ridicule. I find that the participants also ask more questions of each other and the instructor when they feel they can remain incognito. Teaching online courses gives me the satisfaction of knowing that I am instrumental in the professional development of others on their time frame. The respect for each others' time and experience is only one of many side benefits of teaching PLS courses.

My most enjoyable facet of teaching is the exchange of ideas and suggestions among and between students and staff. We can feel the growth from the start of the calls to its conclusion.
