My Favorite Teaching Moment
One of my favorite moments occurred when my 8th graders were reading The Outsiders. One of my classified students who presented herself as Goth and looked very tough sat in class with tears running down her face as we read the part where the character Johnny died. As other students noticed, she kept repeating, "Don't look at me." That's the power of active engagement!
I believe learning is:

* Is a lifelong process

* Each individual learner has a unique style comprised of a multiplicity of intelligences
* Every student is capable of achieving
