My Favorite Teaching Moment

I enjoy the "lightbulb" moments. Having someone see something from a different perspective, and knowing that I played a small part in that realization, is an amazing feeling.

My first class was full of needy students, much the same as many new teacher experience. One of my most needy students was also one who pulled at my heartstrings. As tenuous and up-and-down as our relationship was, he told another student about me: "Once you get to know her, you can't live a day without her." It proved to me that students need a strong, caring figure as a teacher, not a friend. They understand what you are trying to do, although they may not show it all the time.

Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses

Teaching PLS courses helps me connect with other professionals. I can help teachers become better teachers, and that can be as rewarding as teaching in the regular classroom. Online teaching is the wave of the future in education, and it is exciting to be a part of the movement.
