My Favorite Teaching Moment

I enjoy helping students find their strengths and develop their potential. One year I had a student who had been ill a good portion of his first-grade year. As a result, he did not learn to read; yet he was in fourth grade before the school realized what had happened. He was placed in the Learning Disabilities Program at that time. In sixth grade, he recovered from his deficiency, and I was able to take him out of the program. Developing his confidence was the main ingredient to his success.
