Privacy At a Glance
Performance Learning Systems, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Performance Learning, Inc. (collectively, "PLS") is committed to protecting your privacy. You can visit most pages on our site without giving us any information about yourself. But sometimes we do need information to provide services that you request, and this privacy statement explains data collection and use in those situations. This privacy statement applies to any sub-domain (i.e. www.plsweb.com , register.plsweb.com ) of PLSweb.com. It does not apply to other online or offline PLS sites, products or services. Please read the complete privacy statement.

Collection of your Personal Information
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when you are registering for a course, ordering e-mail newsletters, signing up for an event or training, or when purchasing a product. Personal information collected by PLS often is limited to your name and e-mail address, but may include other information when needed to provide a service you requested.

For example: If you choose a service or transaction that requires payment, such as making a purchase, we will request personal information necessary for billing and/or shipping, such as: name, address, telephone number, and credit card number/expiration date. When you register for a course, we will also need a social security number as we are required by the IRS to send a Form1098-T, Tuition Statement to you.

PLS is the sole owner of the information collected on PLSweb.com and PLSregistration.com.

Surveys or Contests
From time-to-time, we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information may include contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code).

Use of your Personal Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:

- To deliver services, such as newsletters, events, or training that you request or purchase.
- To alert you to special offers, updated information and other new services from PLS, if you so request.
- To allow you access to limited-entry areas of our site as appropriate.
- To register you at the college providing credit for the classes you choose.

We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including an outside shipping company to fulfill orders, and a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

PLS may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on PLS or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of PLS and its family of Web sites, or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of PLS employees, users of PLS products or services, or members of the public.

Control of your Personal Information
When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, PLS will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above.

Choice/Opt-out
We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on our order form.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication.

Security of your Personal Information
PLS is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure, and follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. For example, we store the personal information you provide in computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities. As well, when we transmit sensitive information (such as a credit card number) over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site to store non-personally identifiable information. We do not obtain or collect information from cookies attached to an email.

Log Files; Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We occasionally include web beacons in HTML-formatted newsletters or emails that we send to opt-in subscribers in order to count how many newsletters or emails have been read. Our web beacons do not collect, gather, monitor or share any personal information about our web site visitors, they are just the technique we use to compile anonymous information about web site usage.

This Web site contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by PLS. Please be aware that we, PLS, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
