Steve Sassaman

Steve Sassaman is a dynamic and energetic presenter with a great sense of humor, and a master at getting people involved and excited about their chosen profession. His experience is broad and deep…he has been a teacher, a coach, an administrator, a professor in graduate-teacher-education programs, and he’s very involved in professional development. Steve delivers keynote addresses, professional-development training, and coaching assistance for teachers in their classrooms.

Steve served as Lead Consultant of the New Teacher/Mentor Program through the Delaware State Department of Education, designing programming and delivering coaching training for all Delaware school districts. Steve was also the lead restructuring consultant for the Central Western Region of the Philadelphia School District. In addition, he’s acted as a consultant, training instructional coaches for the Salem/Keizer School District in Salem, Oregon, and he currently trains technology mentors in the Technology Integration Mentors (TIMS) program in Pennsylvania and works with various school systems to deliver long-term professional development.

Steve has conducted professional development throughout the United States, in Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Indiana, California, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Vermont. He has worked internationally with teachers from Western Africa and in Canada. Most recently, Steve trained educators of the ORAV Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey. He has also presented workshops at state and national professional development and administrator conferences such as National Staff Development Council, National Career Academy Coalition, and SREB in their High Schools that Work program.

Steve enjoys working with teachers at all grade levels, and he is passionate about the power teachers possess to influence students. Those who have taken his training sessions find Steve to be an informative, enthusiastic and fun presenter.
